Storm’s Angels was created in honor of the Founder’s first dog “Queen Night Storm” who was rescued from a puppy mill. She ended up becoming diabetic and then slowly lost her eyesight and hearing as she aged. Storm lived 7 years as a diabetic and was managed at home. She developed degenerative myelopathy around 11 years old and was in a wheelchair until she passed away from bladder cancer at almost 14.
Storm’s Angels Rescue saves companion animals in her honor. We focus on animals who are not considered adoptable. We work to rehabilitate these animals and place them into forever homes.
With the help of all of our supporters, including donors, fosters and volunteers, we are able to serve the Lorain County, Ohio community. Take the example of Eddie.
Eddie was rescued in late January 2022, and he was in pretty rough shape. He was placed into foster care where he received tireless around-the-clock care including being syringe fed, having breathing treatments, and given medications such as oral antibiotics, antibiotic eye drops, steroids and antivirals!
But, as you can see by his progress in these photos, in 2 weeks he was a brand new boy! Not surprisingly, he was adopted shortly after to live out the rest of his days in loving comfort.
That is why we do what we do! And with your support we’ll be able to rescue many hundreds of “Eddie’s” each year. Ways to help are found throughout this website. Some of them are summarized below. And if you want to keep up with our activities on a daily basis, please follow the “Like Us on Facebook” link to follow us on Facebook! There we post new intakes, adoptables, upcoming events and specific needs we may have.
Feel free to search our website to see the many ways you can help. By working together we ALL can make a difference!
It may be obvious, but it’s something that’s a constant need. Even though we don’t have a physical shelter or paid employees, our largest expense is veterinarian bills which currently average $10,000 each and every month! To Donate visit our Home page.
Fosters are the lifeblood of our rescue. Best part is we are very flexible in suiting your needs. Fosters are the lifeblood of our rescue. Best part is we are very flexible in suiting your needs. Whether you’d like to do short term or longer term, or prefer to foster puppies, kittens, dogs or cats, we will work hard to find the right fit! Even fosters who can only do so a few days at a time are needed in conjunction with our TNR program. So why not give it a try! Visit our Foster page to learn more.
With no paid employees, we depend on volunteers. We need help in fundraising; organizing, setting up and tending events such as for adoptions and fundraisers; trips to & from our veterinarians; blogging; graphic design; contacting companies for donations; and help with our TNR (Trap Neuter Return) program. We encourage you to contact us to offer your services or to ask any questions!
In 2021 alone, we adopted out 558 animals! Some stayed weeks, months or even years. All of these animals eat a LOT! They also require kitty litter, puppy pads, treats, nutritional supplements, kitten formula, medical supplies and SO much more. You can visit our Donate page to see what, besides funds, you can donate. Our Wish Lists will also help guide you.
