And remember, this list of Adoptable Pets only shows those who are all ready to go in a home right now. We take in new animals almost daily who are at different stages of getting ready for a new home. So check back often or, better yet, follow us on Facebook to see the new pets coming in. We do accept Adoption Applications before a pet is even ready so be sure to visit!

Why should I adopt? Companion animals are killed at an alarming rate daily (approximately 15,000 cats per day and 10,000 dogs per day) due to overcrowding in shelters. Many of these animals are puppies and even purebred dogs and cats. Adoption saves lives! Please adopt, don’t shop.

Did you find a companion animal that you think has real potential? We knew you would! Here’s what happens next.

First fill out the online Adoption Application following the links below. If you would like a paper form please email your request to stormsangelsrescue@gmail.com. We are 100% volunteer based so we will definitely get to your Application as fast as we can and we appreciate your patience. Applications can take up to a week to process. Remember, anything important is worth waiting for! But rest assured we want to find homes for our adoptable pets as soon as we can so they can begin a life in their new forever home. 

Once we’ve had a chance to review your Adoption Application our Adoption Coordinator will contact you to answer your questions and perhaps have of few more for you. 

We require 2 meet-and-greets for dogs and 1 for cats. The adoption fee helps cover the animal’s vetting including spay/neuter, microchip and all vaccines. Dogs come with a collar, leash and harness (or head halter). All animals come with a small bag of their current food. Adoption fees are tax deductible to the amount allowed by law and are non-refundable.

What’s one of the best things about Storm’s Angels Rescue? We are totally foster based. That means your potential pet has spent time in a foster’s home before being adopted. This helps to socialize our adoptables as well as give the foster a chance to observe them in a home setting as well as see if they mix well with any other cats, dogs or children in their home. Because of this we can give an honest assessment of how your potential new family member will fit in your home and lifestyle. Remember, we want to make sure both you and your new pet are happy!

Do we adopt outside of Ohio? Yes, we will adopt animals 16 weeks and older outside the state. We are willing to transport up to one hour from Northeast Ohio. If farther you will be required to come pick up your new pet. We can arrange volunteer transport in some situations. Please contact us for more information.

Please note that if adopting a cat we require as part of our contract  that you will NOT have the cat declawed. No exceptions.

Can you help me find a certain breed, age, sex or type of animal? Yes, we would be glad to pre-approve you to adopt from our organization. In doing this, we will work to match what you are looking for before we list the animals for adoption to the general public. All pre-approved adopters are contacted in the order they were pre-approved. For more information about our pre-approval process please email stormsangelsrescue@gmail.com.
